Enum EthereumTypedTransaction

pub enum EthereumTypedTransaction<Eip4844> {

}
Expand description

Typed transaction enum corresponding to the EthereumTxEnvelope envelope.

Variants§

§

Legacy(TxLegacy)

An untagged TxLegacy.

§

Eip2930(TxEip2930)

A TxEip2930 tagged with type 1.

§

Eip1559(TxEip1559)

A TxEip1559 tagged with type 2.

§

Eip4844(Eip4844)

A TxEip4844 tagged with type 3. An EIP-4844 transaction has two network representations: 1 - The transaction itself, which is a regular RLP-encoded transaction and used to retrieve historical transactions..

2 - The transaction with a sidecar, which is the form used to send transactions to the network.

§

Eip7702(TxEip7702)

A TxEip7702 tagged with type 4.

Implementations§

Source§

impl<T> EthereumTypedTransaction<TxEip4844Variant<T>>

Source

pub fn strip_eip4844_sidecar(self) -> (Self, Option<T>)

Strips the sidecar from EIP-4844 transactions and returns both the transaction and the sidecar separately, keeping the same sidecar type parameter.

This method consumes the typed transaction and returns:

For non-EIP-4844 transactions, this returns the transaction unchanged with None for the sidecar.

This is a convenience wrapper around strip_eip4844_sidecar_into that keeps the same type parameter.

§Examples
// Strip the sidecar from the transaction (type parameter stays the same)
let (tx_without_sidecar, maybe_sidecar) = tx.strip_eip4844_sidecar();

if let Some(sidecar) = maybe_sidecar {
    // Process the blob sidecar separately
    println!("Transaction had {} blobs", sidecar.blobs.len());
}
Source

pub fn strip_eip4844_sidecar_into<U>( self, ) -> (EthereumTypedTransaction<TxEip4844Variant<U>>, Option<T>)

Strips the sidecar from EIP-4844 transactions and returns both the transaction and the sidecar separately, converting to a different sidecar type parameter.

This method consumes the typed transaction and returns:

For non-EIP-4844 transactions, this simply converts the type parameter and returns None for the sidecar.

This is useful when you need to:

  • Extract blob data from pooled transactions for separate processing
  • Convert between different sidecar type parameters
  • Prepare transactions for storage (without sidecars)
§Examples
// Strip the sidecar and convert to a different type parameter
let (tx_without_sidecar, maybe_sidecar): (
    EthereumTypedTransaction<TxEip4844Variant<BlobTransactionSidecarVariant>>,
    _,
) = tx.strip_eip4844_sidecar_into();

if let Some(sidecar) = maybe_sidecar {
    // Process the blob sidecar separately
    println!("Transaction had {} blobs", sidecar.blobs.len());
}
Source

pub fn drop_eip4844_sidecar(self) -> Self

Drops the sidecar from EIP-4844 transactions and returns only the transaction, keeping the same sidecar type parameter.

This is a convenience method that discards the sidecar from EIP-4844 transactions, returning only the transaction without a sidecar.

This is equivalent to calling strip_eip4844_sidecar and taking only the first element of the tuple.

§Examples
// Drop the sidecar, keeping only the transaction
let tx_without_sidecar = tx.drop_eip4844_sidecar();
Source

pub fn drop_eip4844_sidecar_into<U>( self, ) -> EthereumTypedTransaction<TxEip4844Variant<U>>

Drops the sidecar from EIP-4844 transactions and returns only the transaction, converting to a different sidecar type parameter.

This is a convenience method that discards the sidecar from EIP-4844 transactions, returning only the transaction without a sidecar.

This is equivalent to calling strip_eip4844_sidecar_into and taking only the first element of the tuple.

§Examples
// Drop the sidecar and convert to a different type parameter
let tx_without_sidecar: EthereumTypedTransaction<
    TxEip4844Variant<BlobTransactionSidecarVariant>,
> = tx.drop_eip4844_sidecar_into();
Source§

impl<Eip4844> EthereumTypedTransaction<Eip4844>

Source

pub fn map_eip4844<U>( self, f: impl FnMut(Eip4844) -> U, ) -> EthereumTypedTransaction<U>

Converts the EIP-4844 variant of this transaction with the given closure.

This is intended to convert between the EIP-4844 variants, specifically for stripping away non consensus data (blob sidecar data).

pub fn into_envelope(self, signature: Signature) -> EthereumTxEnvelope<Eip4844>

Converts this typed transaction into a signed EthereumTxEnvelope
